TOP GUN: MAVERICK Director Joseph Kosinski Set to Helm SPIDERHEAD From the Writers of DEADPOOL

Joseph Kosinski, the director of Tron: Legacy, Oblivion, Only The Brave, and Top Gun: Maverick, has signed on for a new film project for Netflix. It’s called Spiderhead, and the script come from Deadpool and Zombieland scribes Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick.

The movie is an adaptation of the George Saunders short story, which is “set in the near future, when convicts are offered the chance to volunteer as medical subjects in hopes of shortening their sentences. When one prisoner finds himself the test patient for a new pharmaceutical capable of generating feelings of love, he begins questioning the reality of his emotions and sets out to discover the truth.”

That certainly sounds like and interesting story to tell, one that will be perfect for Kosinski to take on. I’ve really enjoyed the films that Kosinski has made. I like his visual and storytelling style.

According to Deadline, the project is being put on the fast track, and Kosinski will start work on it as soon as he’s finished with Top Gun: Maverick.
