TOP GUN: MAVERICK Director Joseph Kosinski to Develop UFO Disclosure-Themed Film
Top Gun: Maverick and Tron: Legacy director Joseph Kosinski is looking to reteam with producer Jerry Bruckheimer on an interesting new film project.
The film is described as a “UFO disclosure-themed take on All the President’s Men, the classic 1976 political thriller.”
Kosinski will direct from a script written by Zach Baylin. Kosinski and Bruckheimer worked together on Top Gun: Maverick and the upcoming Formula One racing movie F1, starring Brad Pitt, for Apple.
There aren’t any other details to share, but I’m a fan of the film’s that Kosinski has made. He’s a great technical director who’s been honing his craft as a storyteller, and I’m curious to see what this next film of his will end up being.
All the President’s Men is a political thriller based on the true story of Washington Post journalists Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein, who uncovered the Watergate scandal that led to President Richard Nixon’s resignation.
The film follows their relentless investigation into the 1972 break-in at the Democratic National Committee headquarters. As they dig deeper, they uncover a widespread political conspiracy involving high-ranking officials and secret cover-ups.
Guided by their mysterious source, Deep Throat, the reporters navigate government intimidation and journalistic roadblocks to reveal one of the biggest scandals in American history.
So, a take on this new movie could follow a couple of investigative journalists who stumble upon a leaked government report detailing decades of classified encounters with unidentified aerial phenomena.
