TOP GUN: MAVERICK Will Reportedly Screen at CinemaCon This Month
Tom Cruise’s Top Gun: Maverick is easily one of the most highly anticipated films of the year. It’s a movie that I’ve been incredibly excited about watching since it was first announced and the release of the film kept getting pushed back and three years later it’s finally being released!
According to Deadline, the movie is going to be screened at Paramount Picture’s presentation at CinemaCon! I had a feeling this was going to be the case. Last year they screened the first 15 minutes of the film, which blew fans away and everyone in attendance walked out of that presentation disappointed that they didn’t show the full movie. There’s also a chance that Tom Cruise will show up to present the film, which would be rad.
Well, it’s coming this year and I couldn’t be more stoked to be going to CinemaCon this year! I’m so pumped up about watching this movie and you can bet your ass that we’ll be sharing a reaction video with you when it’s over!
On a side note, years and years ago when I used to work at Paramount Pictures in the mailroom, I used to see Tom Cruise all the time. I worked there while he was shooting Mission: Impossible III. He was always incredibly kind when we crossed paths.
Joseph Kosinski (Tron: Legacy) directed Top Gun: Maverick, and this is the synopsis:
After more than thirty years of service as one of the Navy’s top aviators, Pete “Maverick” Mitchell (Tom Cruise) is where he belongs, pushing the envelope as a courageous test pilot and dodging the advancement in rank that would ground him. When he finds himself training a detachment of Top Gun graduates for a specialized mission the likes of which no living pilot has ever seen, Maverick encounters Lt. Bradley Bradshaw (Miles Teller), call sign: “Rooster,” the son of Maverick’s late friend and Radar Intercept Officer Lt. Nick Bradshaw, aka “Goose.”
Facing an uncertain future and confronting the ghosts of his past, Maverick is drawn into a confrontation with his own deepest fears, culminating in a mission that demands the ultimate sacrifice from those who will be chosen to fly it.
Top Gun: Maverick also stars Miles Teller as Goose's son, as well as Glen Powell, Jennifer Connelly, Jon Hamm, Ed Harris, and Lewis Pullman. Val Kilmer also appears in the film.
Top Gun: Maverick is firing up its jets and flying into theaters on Memorial Day, May 27th.
