Tracy Morgan to Star in NBC Comedy From Tina Fey, Robert Carlock and Sam Means in 30 ROCK and SNL Reunion

Tracy Morgan has signed on to star in a comedy series pilot for NBC, which he will also executive produce. The untitled single-camera comedy reunites the former 30 Rock star with the Emmy-winning series’ co-showrunners Tina Fey and Robert Carlock and writer Sam Means, all of which are former Saturday Night Live alums.

Written by Carlock and Means, the new comedy stars Morgan as a disgraced former football player who is on a mission to rehabilitate his image.

Carlock, Means and Morgan executive produce with Fey, Eric Gurian and David Miner. Rhys Thomas is director and executive producer on the pilot. Universal Television, a division of Universal Studio Group, where Fey, Carlock and Means are under overall deals, produces with Little Stranger, Bevel Gears and 3 Arts.

Morgan also stars in Paramount+’s upcoming comedy series Crutch, an offshoot from CBS’ The Neighborhood. If the NBC pilot goes to series and Crutch gets renewed, he will be able to do both shows.
