Trailer and Clip for National Geographic's New Horror Nature Series DEAD BY DAWN
National Geographic has produced a new series that seems like it will be really fun, crazy, and unique. They created a horror-inspired nature series called Dead By Dawn, and it “will focus on the ‘terrifying real stories of life in the wild.’”
The six-part series uses aspects of the horror movie genre to tell these dark tales in the animal kingdom. I have a trailer for you to watch today along with a clip. But before you get into those, here’s the synopsis:
Dead by Dawn delivers captivating and excellent visuals and storytelling while audaciously leaning into classic horror folly and memorable, distinctive soundtracks alongside suspenseful nature stories that begin just before sunset and end just after sunrise. Each episode features wildlife in a different country, from Costa Rica to Indonesia to the swamps of the USA. Once the sun goes down, creatures of the night battle for survival. It’s a countdown until dawn, and only the strongest and luckiest will live to see the sunrise. Warning: Be prepared to scream!
Each of the episodes will focus on a specific setting and the dangerous creatures that dwell in that environment. The first two episodes of the series are called, “The Hills Have Eyes” and “Night of the Living Dead,” after the classic horror films. They also incorporate the ideas from those films in the episodes, which I think is pretty cool.
Dead By Dawn premieres Sunday, January 13th on Nat Geo Wild.
