Trailer for Dramedy SOMEWHERE IN QUEENS Featuring Ray Romano and Laurie Metcalf in Romano's Directorial Debut
A new trailer and poster have been released for the family dramedy Somewhere In Queens, starring Ray Romano (Everybody Loves Raymond) and Laurie Metcalf (Roseanne), as well as newcomer Jacob Ward, Sadie Stanley (The Goldbergs), Tony Lo Bianco, Sebastian Maniscalco, Jennifer Esposito, Dierdre Friel, and Jon Manfrellotti.
The film is the directorial debut for Romano, from a script he co-wrote with Mark Stegemann, who previously wrote for the series Scrubs as well Men of a Certain Age, in which Romano also starred.
Here’s the synopsis:
Leo Russo (Ray Romano) lives a simple life in Queens, New York with his wife Angela (Laurie Metcalf), their shy but talented son "Sticks" (Jacob Ward), and his close-knit network of Italian-American relatives and neighborhood friends. Happy enough working at the family construction business alongside his father (Tony Lo Bianco) and younger brother (Sebastian Maniscalco), Leo lives each week for Sticks’ high-school basketball games, never missing a chance to cheer on his only child as he rules the court as a star athlete. When the high-school senior gets a surprising and life-changing opportunity to play basketball in college, Leo jumps at the chance to provide a plan for his future, away from the family construction business. But when sudden heartbreak threatens to derail Sticks, Leo goes to unexpected lengths to keep his son on this new path.
This looks like a really good story with great acting. I am a fan of Romano and Metcalf, and I love comedic family dramas like this one, so I look forward to watching it. Check out the trailer and poster below, and watch Somewhere in Queens in select theaters starting April 21st.
