Shudder has released a trailer for their anthology film Horror Noire that was made by Black writers and filmmakers. The film serves as a follow-up to the highly-acclaimed 2019 documentary of the same name, which examined the history of Black horror and its influence on the genre and culture.
The six tales featured in the anthology are titled "Daddy," "Bride Before You," "Brand of Evil," "The Lake," "Sundown," and "Fugue State."
The cast includes Lesley-Ann Brandt (Lucifer), Luke James (Thoughts of a Colored Man), Erica Ash (A Black Lady Sketch Show), Brandon Mychal Smith (Four Weddings and a Funeral), Sean Patrick Thomas (The Curse of La Llorona), Peter Stormare (American Gods), Malcolm Barrett (Timeless), Tony Todd (Candyman), and Rachel True (The Craft).
The film’s adapted stories are written by husband-and-wife writing duo Tananarive Due (My Soul to Keep) and Steven Barnes (Lion's Blood), as well as Ezra Claytan Daniels (BTTM FDRS), Victor LaValle (The Ballad of Black Tom), Shernold Edwards (All Rise), and Al Letson (Reveals).
