Trailer and Poster For Surfing Crime Drama SONS OF SUMMER
A new trailer and poster have been released for the Australian surfing crime drama Sons of Summer, starring Isabel Lucas, Joe Davidson, Temuera Morrison, Christopher Pate, Steve Nation, Jonathan Weir, Alex Fleri, and Victoria Fleri. The film is directed by Clive Fleury (Play the Game, Fatal Past, Big City Blues), from a screenplay written by Phillip Avalon and Greg Clayton.
The synopsis reads:
In the spirit of Point Break comes this dazzling thriller that mixes crime action & incredible surfing stunts. To mark the anniversary of his father's death, Sean takes his friends on a road trip to his surfer dad's favorite beach. But Sean's drug-dealing friend forces him to do one last favor – steal a heroin shipment from a local mobster – and the crime lord retaliates by kidnapping Sean's girlfriend in an attempt to get his drugs back. Can Sean get back to town in time to save both her life, and his own?
This looks like a cheesy Point Break ripoff without the star power, but it may be watchable if you don’t set expectations too high. Check out the trailer and poster for the film below, and watch Sons of Summer in select US theaters and on VOD on July 28th.
