Trailer For a 1999-Set Lo-Fi Tech Mystery Thriller Titled BROADCAST SIGNAL INTRUSION
Dark Sky Films has released an intriguing trailer for a 1999-set lo-fi tech mystery thriller titled Broadcast Signal Intrusion. The movie centers on a video archivist who discovers a series of disturbing pirate broadcasts and he becomes obsessed with uncovering the sinister conspiracy behind them.
In the story, “James is archiving video tapes for a Chicago television station when he discovers that one contains a broadcast signal intrusion (BSI) where a disguised person acts strangely. The video is difficult to hear clearly, but this intrigues James. He chooses to investigate reports of a similar BSI that occurred during an episode of a sci-fi TV show, only to discover that the FCC took all of the station's copies. As he continues to search, James uncovers a possible conspiracy that it linked to the disappearance of several women, including his wife Hannah.”
I really dig this because it utilizes all kinds of old-school 90s technology, which I loved messing around with when I was growing up. The movie stars Harry Shum Jr. as James, along with Chris Sullivan, Kelley Mack, Steve Pringle, and Justin Welborn.
The film was helmed by Jacob Gentry (Last Goodbye, The Signal, and Synchronicity) and it will be released in theater and VOD on October 22nd, 2021.
