Trailer for a New TERMINATOR 2 Video Game TERMINATOR 2D: NO FATE

If you thought Terminator 2: Judgment Day had its last video game adaptation decades ago, think again. A brand-new T2-inspired game is on the way, and it’s embracing the retro roots of the franchise in a fun way.

Developer Bitmap Bureau has announced Terminator 2D: No Fate, a side-scrolling action game designed in the style of classic '90s titles, specifically those seen on the Sega CD.

Revealed alongside a debut trailer, which you can watch below, the game follows the events of Terminator 2: Judgment Day and lets players step into the boots of Sarah Connor, John Connor, and the T-800 as they take on the relentless T-1000 and battle against Skynet.

The synopsis reads: “Play as Sarah Connor and the T-800 through a variety of thrilling missions as they take on the T-1000 and try to put a stop to Skynet’s plans before the human race is annihilated.

“Lead the Resistance as John Connor in the future, fighting on the front lines as mankind’s only hope in the War Against the Machines. In this unique story blending iconic scenes from Terminator 2: Judgment Day with original scenarios and multiple endings, humanity’s fate is yours to decide.”

Set to launch on September 5, Terminator 2D: No Fate will be available on PS5, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and PC.

Bitmap Bureau is taking a nostalgic approach here, and it’s a love letter to fans of both Terminator and retro gaming.

With Terminator 2 still holding its place as one of the greatest action films of all time, it’s exciting to see a game that captures its essence in a way that feels both fresh and familiar.
