Trailer For a Throwback Marital Arts Action Movie THE LAST KUMITE
Here’s an enjoyable trailer for an 80s throwback action movie titled The Last Kumite. The trailer comes complete with training and fight sequences along with that classic inspirational 80s-style montage music.
"One last kumite, one final battle - for the life of his daughter." The film is described as an “action packed old school martial arts fighting movie in the style of 80's and 90's classics like Bloodsport, Kickboxer and No Retreat, No Surrender. It follows Michael Rivers, a skilled martial artist and is forced to fight in an illegal fighting tournament in order to save his daughter. Along his journey he discovers other martial artists have also been forced to fight to save their loved ones.”
The movie comes from director Ross W. Clarkson and it’s described as "a new take on the tournament movie inspired by the likes of Bloodsport, Kickboxer and No Retreat No Surrender." The film stars newcomer Mathis Landwehr as Michael in the lead role, along with Cynthia Rothrock, Michel Qissi, Matthias Hues, Richard Norton, Kurt McKinney, Billy Blanks, Abdel Qissi, David Yeung, and David Kurzhal. Original Bloodsport and Kickboxer composer, Paul Hertzog, also came out of retirement to score the movie.
The movie was funded with support on Kickstarter and Indiegogo. Capelight Pictures will debut The Last Kumite sometime in early 2024.
