Trailer for AMMONITE a Seaside Love Story Starring Kate Winslet and Saoirse Ronan
We have a lovely trailer for the romance film Ammonite starring Oscar-winning actress Kate Winslet and Oscar-nominated actress Saoirse Ronan. They are joined in the film by Gemma Jones, James McArdle, Alec Secareanu, and Fiona Shaw, and the film is written and directed by Francis Lee.
The film is set in 1840s England, and Winslet plays acclaimed but overlooked fossil hunter Mary Anning, who is paid to take on the wife of a man who feels she needs something to get her out of bed for. The young married woman, played by Ronan, is sent to convalesce by the sea, where the two women develop an intense relationship, making them feel happy and understood for the first time in each of their lives.
The two lead actresses alone make me want to see this film, but it actually does look like a really lovely film, and it’s a story that we haven’t seen told very often, so I think it’s important for many to see. Check out the trailer and poster below, and watch Ammonite in theaters November 13th.
