Trailer For Anthony Hopkins' ONE LIFE Tells The True Story of Holocaust Hero Sir Nicholas Winton
Bleecker Street has a new trailer for the upcoming drama One Life. This is a biographical drama that stars Anthony Hopkins and it tells the true story of Sir Nicholas Winton, a Holocaust hero who is responsible for saving hundreds of Jewish children during World War II. This looks like an incredible movie that tells a powerful story.
Sir Nicholas ‘Nicky’ Winton is “a young London broker played by Hopkins, who, in the months leading up to World War II, rescued 669 children from the Nazis. Nicky visited Prague in December 1938 and found families who had fled the rise of the Nazis in Germany and Austria, living in desperate conditions with little or no shelter and food, and under threat of Nazi invasion. He immediately realized it was a race against time. How many children could he and the team rescue before the borders closed?”
The film is based on Barbara Winton’s If It’s Not Impossible… novel, and it’s directed by James Hawkes from a screenplay written by Lucinda Coxon and Nick Drake. The movie also stars Helena Bonham Carter as Babi Winton, Lena Olin as Grete Winton, Jonathan Pryce as Martin Blake, Samantha Spiro as Esther Rantzen, Alex Sharp as Trevor Chadwick, Romola Garai as Doreen Warriner, and more.
The movie premiered at the 2023 Toronto International Film Festival, and the critics loved it! The movie has been getting a ton of positive reviews. The film will arrive in theaters on March 15, 2024.
