Apple has unveiled the first trailer for a wonderful new documentary film titled Sidney, which honors the legacy of the legendary actor, filmmaker, and activist Sidney Poitier.

Poitier lived an incredible and inspirational life, and this revealing documentary will tell his story and offer insight to help us understand him better and the type of person he was. The doc features candid interviews with Denzel Washington, Halle Berry, Robert Redford, Lenny Kravitz, Barbra Streisand, Spike Lee and many more.

The film is produced by Oprah Winfrey and Derik Murray, in close collaboration with the Poitier family. The movie was directed by Academy Award nominee Reginald Hudlin (Marshall).

Sidney will premiere globally on Apple TV+ on September 23, 2022.
