Trailer For Aubrey Plaza's Fantastic New Coming-of-Age Film MY OLD ASS
Amazon MGM Studios has released the first trailer for Aubrey Plaza’s fresh coming-of-age movie My Old Ass. I saw this movie at Sundance this year, and I loved it!
In the film, “An 18th birthday mushroom trip brings free-spirited Elliott (Maisy Stella) face-to-face with her wisecracking 39-year-old self (Plaza).
“But when Elliott’s ‘old ass’ starts handing out warnings about what her younger self should and shouldn’t do, Elliott realizes she has to rethink everything about family, love, and what’s becoming a transformative summer.”
What begins as an interesting premise involving a mushroom-induced encounter with a future self transforms into a delightful coming-of-age journey of self-discovery and first love.
I said in my review that the film “manages to strike a perfect balance between tugging at the heartstrings and eliciting genuine laughter. From start to finish, the movie had me smiling, and it became one of my favorite films from this year's Sundance Film Festival.”
My Old Ass is a charming and delightful movie with well-developed characters, a strong storyline, and great chemistry between its leads, it's a film that deserves to be watched.
Director Megan Park has crafted a wonderful exploration of youth, love, and the uncertainties that lie ahead.
My Old Ass will be released in theaters on September 13th!
