Trailer For Bill Skarsgård's CLARK Tells the Crazy Story of Notorious Swedish Gangster/Bank Robber Clark Olofsson
Netflix has released a new trailer for Bill Skarsgård's wild-looking series Clark, which tells the true story of Clark Olofsson, a notorious Swedish gangster and bank robber. As you’ll see in the trailer, he’s quite the charismatic criminal and the series is going to lean into the craziness his life in a comedic way.
The story is set in 1973 in Stockholm, Sweden and Olofsson partnered with a friend to rob a bank and it’s there he held a group of employees hostage for ransom. These two robbers had quite the effect on the group as they befriended them, and developed bonds with them. This is where the term “Stockholm Syndrome” originated. Although, Olofsson explains in the trailer how he would prefer the term "Clark Olofsson Syndrome.”
The series was directed by Jonas Åkerlund, and when talking about the project, he said, “[Clark is] about [Olofsson’s] whole life and what made him who he is, the truth and lies of his incredible career. Bill Skarsgård is the perfect match for this, and he will bring the Stockholm Syndrome to the role. And Netflix is the perfect platform, they are not just the biggest streaming service, they also have the boldness to tell this incredible story.”
The filmmaker also said, "Clark is the story about the most politically incorrect man, who lived the most politically incorrect life. These are the kinds of stories I always look for. It's an ultra-violent, witty, emotional, real, and surreal biography to put a face to the name Stockholm Syndrome, but it isn't just about the Norrmalmstorg Robbery. It's about his whole life and what made him who he is, the truth and lies of his incredible career.

It seems like Skarsgård is having a lot of fun playing this character, and it looks like he gives a fantastic performance. Clark will premiere on May 5, 2022, exclusively on Netflix.
