Trailer for Billy Crystal and Ben Schwartz's Comedy STANDING UP, FALLING DOWN
It seems like it’s been a long time since we’ve seen Billy Crystal star in a movie. I love Billy Crystal, and I’ve missed seeing him up on the big screen, so I was super happy to see that he’s got a new film coming out called Standing Up, Falling Down, and we have a trailer to share with you today.
The film also stars Ben Schwartz as a character named Scott Rollins who has been chasing his dream of being a stand-up comic in Los Angeles for four years. In that time he has crashed and burned… hard. “Left with little money and a fledgling at best ‘career’, Scott has no choice but to regroup, lick his wounds, and return home to his parent’s house in Long Island. While trying to figure out what to do next, Scott pines after his ex, Becky Brookes (Eloise Mumford), a successful photographer who has since married a former mutual friend. On a night out at the bar, Scott strikes up an unlikely friendship with an eccentric dermatologist (Crystal) who has regrets of his own. Marty and Scott both help each other find the courage to face the failures in their lives.”
This looks like it’s going to be a charming and entertaining film that tells a wonderful little story. Crystal and Schwartz seem to have great on-screen chemistry, and I’m just happy to see Crystal in a movie again. The film was directed by producer-filmmaker Matt Ratner, who is making his directorial debut.
Shout Factory will release the film in select US theaters on February 21st.
