Trailer for Brian De Palma's Long-Awaited DOMINO Is Finally Here
So we finally have a peek at the trailer for director Brian De Palma’s film Domino. This movie took quite a while to get here, and De Palma has given multiple interviews in the past sounding pretty resigned to being done with the whole movie, including one in which he said, “I never experienced such a horrible movie set. A large part of our team has not even been paid yet by the Danish producers. The film is finished and ready to go out, but I have no idea what its future will hold, it is currently in the hands of the producers. This was my first experience in Denmark and most likely my last.” That sounds pretty rough! Another seemingly big obstacle is the fact that the movie originally had a runtime that clocked in at 148 minutes, but has now been whittled down to on 89 minutes. That’s quite an edit!
De Palma has made some solid movies in the past, some of which are considered mandatory viewing for all film buffs including Carrie, Scarface, The Untouchables, and Mission: Impossible. But I have to say, I think this movie looks kind of cheesy based on the trailer. Although, Guy Pieace (Memento, L.A. Confidential) is an excellent actor, so hopefully I’m wrong and the movie is good and he can carry it through.
Watch the trailer below and tell us if you think it was worth the wait. Domino hits theaters on May 31, 2019.
