Trailer for Carey Mulligan’s FAR FROM THE MADDING CROWD
I’m a fan of Carey Mulligan; she’s just such a talented and beautiful actress. She stars in a upcoming new film called Far From the Madding Crowd, which tells the story of a newly wealthy and very independent woman (Mulligan) and the three suitors (Tom Sturridge, Matthias Schoenaerts, and Michael Sheen) who are trying to win her over.
The film is based on a book by Thomas Hardy, and directed by Danish filmmaker Thomas Vinterberg. It looks like it features some great performances by everyone involved. Here’s the synopsis:
Based on the literary classic by Thomas Hardy, FAR FROM THE MADDING CROWD is the story of independent, beautiful and headstrong Bathsheba Everdene (Carey Mulligan), who attracts three very different suitors: Gabriel Oak (Matthias Schoenaerts), a sheep farmer, captivated by her fetching wilfulness; Frank Troy (Tom Sturridge), a handsome and reckless Sergeant; and William Boldwood (Michael Sheen), a prosperous and mature bachelor. This timeless story of Bathsheba’s choices and passions explores the nature of relationships and love – as well as the human ability to overcome hardships through resilience and perseverance.
The movie opens in theaters on May 1st, the same day as Avengers: Age of Ultron. I know what I’ll be seeing! Sorry Carey.
