Funny Trailer For Charlie Day's Satirical Comedy Film FOOL'S PARADISE Which Has a Great Ensemble Cast
Roadside Attractions has released an entertaining trailer for the upcoming satirical comedy Fool's Paradise. The movie stars Charlie Day, who is also marking his feature film directorial debut with the project. It looks great and like it’s sure to deliver some funny comedy! I’m sold!
The movie tells the story of a down-on-his-luck publicist, “who gets his lucky break when he discovers that a man recently released from a mental health facility looks exactly like a method actor who refuses to leave his trailer. With the help of a powerful producer, the publicist helps the man become a huge star, even marrying his beautiful leading lady. Their adventures lead them to cross paths with drunken costars, irreverent unhoused action heroes, unpredictable directors, super agent, and power-mad moguls. Fame and fortune are not all they're cracked up to be, and the two men must fight their way back to the things that matter the most.”
It seems like it’s a riff on Charlie Chaplin and also has fun poking fun at the ridiculousness of Hollywood. The film also comes with an impressive ensemble cast that includes Ken Jeong, Ray Liotta, Kate Beckinsale, Adrien Brody, Jason Sudeikis, Edie Falco, Jason Bateman, Common, Jillian Bell, Dean Norris, Jimmi Simpson, and John Malkovich.
Fool's Paradise will be released in theaters on May 12th, 2023.
