Trailer for Colin Hanks' Tower Records Doc ALL THINGS MUST PASS

I grew up with a Tower Records right down the street from where me. I spent a lot of my time there when I was a teenager. Flipping through CDs, discovering new music, making friends, and spending hours upon hours listening to music at the store because I couldn't afford to buy all the CDs that I wanted. Tower Records was the place to hang out, it was a booming company, and then all of a sudden it was gone.

Colin Hanks is directing a documentary that takes us through the history of the music company and its rise and fall. The doc is called All Things Must Pass, and as you'll see in the trailer, he managed to get an impressive lineup of interviews to bring his story of Tower Records to life. Here's the synopsis for the film:

Established in 1960, Tower Records was once a retail powerhouse with two hundred stores, in thirty countries, on five continents. From humble beginnings in a small-town drugstore, Tower Records eventually became the heart and soul of the music world, and a powerful force in the music industry. In 1999, Tower Records made $1 billion. In 2006, the company filed for bankruptcy. What went wrong? Everyone thinks they know what killed Tower Records: The Internet. But that’s not the story. All Things Must Pass is a feature documentary film examining this iconic company’s explosive trajectory, tragic demise, and legacy forged by its rebellious founder, Russ Solomon.

The doc will get a limited theatrical release in September.
