Trailer for DC's PENNYWORTH Season 3 Seemingly Teases a Crossover with V FOR VENDETTA
A new trailer for the third season of DC’s Pennyworth: The Origin of Batman's Butler (such an awful title) has surfaced, and it gives us our best look yet at the next adventure that Alfred Pennyworth finds himself on.
While the trailer teases a lot of fun action and an interesting story, one thing featured in the trailer that sticks out above the rest is that the series seemingly crosses over with Alan Moore and David Lloyd’s V For Vendetta.
About halfway through the trailer, we see a room full of people wearing Guy Fawkes masks, the same version of the mask that was popularized the V for Vendetta, comic. There’s no information on the context of that or how this will exactly fit into the story, but it is interesting!
The series is the DC origin story of Bruce Wayne's legendary butler, Alfred Pennyworth, “a former British SAS soldier who forms a security company and goes to work with young billionaire Thomas Wayne, who's not yet Bruce's billionaire father."
Season three of the psychological thriller begins after “a five-year time jump: the civil war is over, and a cultural revolution has changed the world for better or worse – ushering in a new age of Super Heroes and Supervillains."
Executive produced by Bruno Heller, Matthew Patnick, Danny Cannon, and John Stephens, Pennyworth: The Origin of Batman's Butler stars Jack Bannon, Ben Aldridge, Emma Paetz, Paloma Faith, Ryan Fletcher, Dorothy Atkinson, Ramon Tikaram, Harriet Slater, and Simon Manyonda.
Pennyworth: The Origin of Batman's Butler returns for Season 3 on October 6th.
