Trailer For Disney+ Original Sequel HOLLYWOOD STARGIRL Starring Grace VanderWaal

A trailer and poster have been released for the Disney sequel, Hollywood Stargirl, a follow-up to the 2020 movie Stargirl. The original film starred Grace VanderWaal, who got her real-life big break on America’s Got Talent, playing the ukulele and singing beautifully. In the movie, she played Stargirl Caraway, a new high school student who plays ukulele and stands out in a crowd. She sees magic in all things and lights up the lives of those around her, but not without bumps in the road.

In the sequel, Stargirl and her mom take off on a new adventure to Hollywood. Julia Hart is returning to direct from a script she adapted with Jordan Horowitz, based on the novel by Jerry Spinelli. VanderWaal is joined in the cast by Judy Greer, Tyrel Jackson Williams, Judd Hirsch, Uma Thurman, Elijah Richardson, Al Madrigal, Ben Geurens, and Sarayu Blue.

Here’s the full synopsis:

Disney's Hollywood Stargirl is a sequel to the 2020 Disney+ movie about free spirit Stargirl Caraway (Grace VanderWaal), a silver-voiced teenager whose simple acts of kindness work magic in the lives of others. The new sequel follows Stargirl's journey out of Mica, Arizona and into a bigger world of music, dreams and possibilities. When her mother Ana (Judy Greer) is hired as the costume designer on a movie, they relocate to L.A., where Stargirl quickly becomes involved with an eclectic assortment of characters. They include aspiring filmmaking brothers Evan (Elijah Richardson) & Terrell (Tyrel Jackson Williams); Mr. Mitchell (Judd Hirsch), one of Stargirl's neighbors; and Roxanne Martel (Uma Thurman), a musician Stargirl admires and encounters on her journey.

This looks cute, and like something my kids will enjoy. Check out the trailer and poster below, and watch Hollywood Stargirl on Disney+ starting on June 3rd.
