Trailer for Disney's HOME ALONE Remake of HOME SWEET HOME ALONE
Disney has released the first trailer for its remake of the classic holiday movie Home Alone. This new holiday adventure comedy is titled Home Sweet Home Alone, and well, it’s pretty much the exact same movie as the original Home Alone complete with some of the exact same dialogue as the original movie. But this version comes with different actors, different accents, and some different torturous traps.
In the film, “Max Mercer is a mischievous and resourceful young boy who has been left behind while his family is in Japan for the holidays. So when a married couple attempting to retrieve a priceless heirloom set their sights on the Mercer family’s home, it is up to Max to protect it from the trespassers…and he will do whatever it takes to keep them out. Hilarious hijinks of epic proportions ensue, but despite the absolute chaos, Max comes to realize that there really is no place like home sweet home.”
This looks like a silly film, and it’s an unnecessary remake. I’m sure that younger audiences might enjoy it, but it’s definitely not in the same league as the original movie. That first movie was fantastic! I’m sure this remake will offer some amusing moments, though.
Home Sweet Home Alone stars Jo Jo Rabbit’s Archie Yates as Max, and Ellie Kemper, Rob Delaney, Aisling Bea, Kenan Thompson, Tim Simons, Pete Holmes, Devin Ratray, Ally Maki, and Chris Parnell.
The film is directed by Dan Mazer (The Ali G Show, Dirty Grandpa) from a screenplay by Mikey Day and Streeter Seidell, which is based on a screenplay by John Hughes.
Home Sweet Home Alone is a Disney+ Day premiere, and you’ll be able to watch it on November 12, 2021.
