Trailer for DRIVER'S ED Promises a Reckless Teen Adventure and Pure Road Trip Mayhem

If you’re in the mood for a messy, high-energy teen comedy with a road trip twist, the newly released trailer for Driver’s Ed looks ready to deliver exactly that.

Directed by Bobby Farrelly of Dumb & Dumber fame, the film leans into reckless teenage decisions, awkward romance, and the kind of unpredictable chaos that only comes from stealing a driver’s ed car and just going for it.

The story centers on a group of misfit teens who take off on a wild 24-hour journey, trying to help a lovesick high school senior, played by Sam Nivola, win back his college freshman girlfriend.

What starts as a desperate romantic mission quickly spirals into something much bigger and way more ridiculous. They’re dodging school security, dealing with cops, crossing paths with low-level criminals, and somehow end up taking in a three-legged cat along the way.

Nivola leads a cast that includes Sophie Telegadis, Mohana Krishnan, Kumail Nanjiani, and Molly Shannon, with appearances from Alyssa Milano and Tim Baltz.

Farrelly, who’s been carving out his solo path after his work with his brother, explained what drew him to the project: "I've been a big fan of road trip comedies ever since we kicked off our career with Dumb & Dumber. What I particularly loved about making Driver's Ed is that I got to work from a really clever script and with a very fun and talented cast. Win win!”

The script comes from Thomas Moffett, and I enjoy this kinds of movies! There’s something refreshing about how unapologetically chaotic this looks. It isn’t trying to reinvent the teen comedy formula. It’s just throwing a bunch of oddball characters into a bad decision and seeing how far off the rails things can go.

Driver’s Ed is set to hit select theaters and VOD on May 15, 2026.
