Trailer For Dysfunctional Family Holiday Movie CHRISTMAS EVE IN MILLER'S POINT
A new trailer has been released for the dysfunctional family holiday movie, Christmas Eve in Miller’s Point. The movie is directed by Tyler Taormina (Ham on Rye, Happer's Comet) from a screenplay co-written by Taormina and Eric Berger.
The comedy initially premiered at the 2024 Cannes Film Festival in the Directors' Fortnight (Quinzaine des Cinéastes) sidebar, and it also played at the Deauville American Film Festival.
The cast includes Michael Cera, who also produced the film, as well as Elsie Fisher, Maria Dizzia, Gregg Turkington, Matilda Fleming, Lev Cameron, Ben Shenkman, and Sawyer Spielberg.
The film’s synopsis reads:
“An iridescent Christmas bauble, at once comforting and melancholic: for his third feature, Tyler Taormina films a Christmas’s Eve get-together for the members of an eccentric Italian-American family. As the night wears on and generational tensions arise, one of the teenagers sneaks out of the house with her friend to claim the wintry suburb for her own.”
This looks like a very low-budget holiday TV movie. But who knows, maybe the trailer doesn’t display the story that’s told in a fair way.
