Trailer For Edward Burns' Sequel THE FAMILY MCMULLEN Featuring Connie Britton & Tracee Ellis Ross
A trailer has been released for the sequel The Family McMullen, the follow-up to the 1995 film The Brothers McMullen, which was the directorial debut of Edward Burns, who came back to write, direct, and star.
Along with Burns, Connie Britton and Michael McGlone returned to reprise their roles in the first film, and they’re joined in the sequel by Tracee Ellis Ross, Halston Sage, Juliana Canfield, Pico Alexander, and Brian d'Arcy James.
The synopsis for the sequel reads: “30 years after Edward Burns' The Brothers McMullen wowed audiences with its exploration of the lives & struggles of three Irish American brothers from New York, the family returns in the long-awaited follow-up, The Family McMullen. As with the original, The Family McMullen is an ensemble comedy made by Burns.
“The new film tracks the romantic entanglements of a now 50-something Barry McMullen (Edward Burns) and his 20something kids, as well as his brother Patrick (Michael McGlone) and widowed sister-in-law Molly (Connie Britton), who are also facing unexpected romantic hurdles.”
This looks like a nice family holiday film to enjoy in the upcoming season. The film will be released in theatres on October 15th for one night only, then it will be available to watch on VOD.
