Trailer For Ellen DeGeneres' Upcoming Netflix Stand-Up Special RELATABLE
Ellen DeGeneres is returning to stand-up with a Netflix special entitled Relatable. This is her first stand-up special in 15 years. DeGeneres’ career really took off back in 1986, when she appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson, after which she continued to do stand-up, as well as appear in movies and star in a television show based on her life. She has found the biggest success of her life in the last 15 years hosting the daytime talkshow The Ellen DeGeneres Show and is now returning to her roots in her stand-up comeback.
In this promo, she explains the context for the title of her Netflix special. She told a friend of hers that she was going to be returning to stand-up, to which he replied, “Really? Are you sure you’re still relatable?” with her responding to the audience’s laughter with a deadpan, then saying, “Just then, Batu, my butler, stepped into the library…”. I’m thrilled about this special! I have been a fan of Ellen since I was a little kid. I used to get a little crowd of kids around me in 3rd and 4th grade to watch me perform Ellen stand-up bits. The goldfish bit, the public bathrooms, movie theatres. She has always been so incredibly funny, and I’m so glad she’s bringing us new laughs.
Relatable will be coming to Netflix on December 18th. Just in time to have something to watch with your relatives this holiday season. Merry Christmas to us!
