Trailer for ERASER: REBORN a Reboot of Arnold Schwarzenegger's 1996 Movie ERASER
Arnold Schwarzenegger’s 1996 action movie Eraser has been rebooted. It’s titled Eraser: Reborn, and the first trailer for the movie has been released. The only memory I have of the first film is watching it with Arnold Schwarzenegger sitting two seats away from me in the back of the movie theater during an audience test screening. He was just loudly munching through his bucket of popcorn and laughing at all of his silly one-liners throughout the movie.
Anyway, the original movie itself wasn’t really that great; I don’t really understand why someone thought it would be a good idea to reboot it, but here we are! This film looks like it stripped out all of the sci-fi elements of the story and focuses more on the clandestine side of the government.
It’s explained that this action film follows “US Marshal Mason Pollard, a specialist in engineering the fake deaths of witnesses that need to leave no trace of their existence.”
The film was directed by John Pogue (Quarantine 2: Terminal, The Quiet Ones, Blood Brothers, and Deep Blue Sea 3) and it stars Dominic Sherwood as Mason Pollard, Jacky Lai, McKinley Belcher III as Paul Whitlock, and Eddie Ramos as Sugar Jax, a local gangster.
The movie doesn’t really look that good. It feels like a super generic and forgettable movie. Warner Bros will release Eraser: Reborn direct-to-VOD / DVD / Blu-ray starting on June 7th, 2022.
