Trailer for FORGOTTEN TRASH an '80s Sci-Fi Horror Throwback Film Shot on Video
Retro Video Pictures has released a trailer for very indie ‘80s throwback sci-fi horror film titled Forgotten Trash. The movie was shot on a MiniDV camcorder then transferred it to VHS to get the crappy grainy visuals. Because of this, the movie visually looks awful, but that’s the whole point.
The film was directed by Brandon Espana, who said, "I wasn't trying to make something self-referential. It was always intended to be a straightforward, low-budget genre movie that draws influence from '70s and early '80s regional horror." Well, it seems like he certainly accomplished that, but it doesn’t look like the kind of film that I’d go out of my way to watch.
The story follows a recent film school graduate who stumbles across an alien in the woods, that alien “convinces him to help with an intergalactic TV show. Little does he know that the extraterrestrial entertainment involves traveling from planet to planet and killing the inhabitants. “
The movie, which is said to be "a brisk throwback to the halcyon days of VHS" stars Connor McDonald and Steve Kasan. Forgotten Trash is available to buy as digital download directly from Espana - via this Google Form. For more info, check out Retro Video Pictures.
