Interesting Trailer for FX's Time Jump Thriller Series KINDRED From Producer Darren Aronofsky

FX Networks has released a trailer for producer Darren Aronofsky’s upcoming FX mini-series Kindred. The project is an adaptation of the novel by Hugo Award-winner Octavia E. Butler. I wasn’t sure what to expect from this series, but it looks like a great show that tells a fascinating story of a young woman who is being pulled back and forth through time.

Kindred centers on Dana James (Mallori Johnson), “a young Black woman and aspiring writer who has uprooted her life of familial obligation and relocated to Los Angeles, ready to claim a future that, for once, feels all her own. But, before she can settle into her new home, she finds herself being violently pulled back and forth in time. She emerges on a 19-century plantation, a place remarkably & intimately linked with Dana and her family. An interracial romance threads through Dana's past and present, and the clock is ticking as she struggles to confront secrets she never knew ran through her blood, in this genre-breaking exploration of the ties that bind.”

It’ll be interesting to see how this story plays out. The series was created by Branden Jacobs-Jenkins, who is also the showrunner. He was consulting producer on shows such asWatchmen and Outer Range. The series also stars Micah Stock as Kevin Franklin, Ryan Kwanten as Thomas, Gayle Rankin as Margaret, Austin Smith as Luke, David Alexander Kaplan, Sophina Brown, and Sheria Irving as Olivia.

FX will debut Kindred, and it will stream on Hulu starting on December 13th, 2022. Watch the trailer and let us know if this looks like a show that you’d be interested in watching.
