Trailer for George Clooney and Julia Roberts' Thriller MONEY MONSTER
Jodie Foster is back in the director's chair to helm George Clooney and Julia Roberts in a new film called Money Monster. The story centers on a popular financial show host named Lee Gates, who ends up being taken hostage by an angry investor who feels like Gates screwed him after he loses on his money on a stock recommended by Gates. The movie looks great and the story unfolds in real time, which I think is refreshing for a film to do these days. Here's the synopsis:
In the taut and tense thriller Money Monster, Lee Gates (George Clooney) is a bombastic TV personality whose popular financial network show has made him the money wiz of Wall Street. But after he hawks a high tech stock that mysteriously crashes, an irate investor (Jack O’Connell) takes Gates, his crew, and his ace producer Patty Fenn (Julia Roberts) hostage live on air. Unfolding in real time, Gates and Fenn must find a way to keep themselves alive while simultaneously uncovering the truth behind a tangle of big money lies.
In an interview with EW, Foster said:
“The film is not a polemic. It’s really about the brotherhood that forms between these two men who thought they were on opposite sides, who hated each other, until they realize they’re both fighting for the same thing.” Also starring Dominic West, Giancarlo Esposito, and Caitronia Balfe, check out the first trailer below ahead of a summer release.
Money Monster also stars Jack O’Connell, Dominic West, Giancarlo Esposito, and Caitriona Balfe and is set to be released on March 31st, 2016.
