Trailer For Gillian Anderson and Helen Mirren's Inspirational WWII-Set Film WHITE BIRD
Lionsgate has released the first trailer for the inspirational World War II survival film White Bird, which is based on the graphic novel of the same name. The movie stars Gillian Anderson and Helen Mirren and it tells the story of Julian (Bryce Gheisar), “who has struggled to belong ever since he was expelled from his former school for his treatment of Auggie Pullman.” In an effort to transform his life, Julian’s grandmother (Mirren) shares her own story of courage, on how during her youth in Nazi-occupied France, a boy shelters her from mortal danger.
In the film, “They find first love in a stunning, magical world of their own creation, while the boy’s mother (Anderson) risks everything to keep her safe.” It’s described as “an uplifting movie about how one act of kindness can live on forever.”
The movie is directed by Marc Forster (Finding Neverland and Christopher Robin). It’s part of the Wonder franchise, and it was previously titled White Bird: A Wonder Story. If you enjoy a good uplifting and feel-good movie that will get your emotions riled up, White Bird is the movie for you!
White Bird will be released in theaters on August 25th, 2023.
