Trailer for Gritty WWII Tank Action Thriller DER TIGER

Amazon MGM Studios has dropped the official trailer for Der Tiger, a gritty German World War II tank movie that dives deep into the psychological toll of war. Set in Autumn 1943 on the Eastern Front, the film follows a five-man crew in a Tiger tank sent on a covert mission far beyond Nazi lines.

What begins as a straightforward operation descends into a surreal nightmare fueled by drug addiction, fear, and unraveling morality.

In the film, “Autumn 1943, Eastern Front: A five-man crew of a German Tiger tank is sent on a secret mission deep behind enemy lines. But what begins as a clear order quickly turns into a journey into the moral abyss. Between drug addiction, fear, and growing inner emptiness, the boundary between man and machine breaks down - and with it the belief in meaning, order and comradeship...”

It’s being positioned as an anti-war film that doesn’t hold back on the brutal cost of battle, both physically and psychologically.

The movie was directed by Dennis Gansel (The Wave, Before the Fall), Der Tiger stars David Schütter, Laurence Rupp, Leonard Kunz, Sebastian Urzendowsky, and Yoran Leicher. Gansel co-wrote the script with Colin Teevan, and it’s produced by Frank Kusche and Dan Maag for Pantaleon Films and Amazon MGM Germany.

The trailer teases a bleak, intense war drama in the vein, with a distinctly German lens and psychological depth. The film opens in German theaters on September 18, 2025, before eventually making its way to Prime Video for a global release.
