Trailer for Hulu's Christmas Rom-Com HAPPIEST SEASON with Kristen Stewart and Mackenzie Davis
Hulu has released a new trailer for a fun original Christmas rom-com called Happiest Season starring Kristen Stewart (Twilight, American Ultra, Seberg) and Mackenzie Davis (Halt and Catch Fire, Terminator: Dark Fate). The two women are dating and on the verge of engagement when Davis’ character Harper reveals to Abby (Stewart) that she hasn’t come out to her parents yet, and they think that Abby is an orphaned friend that she has taken under her wing.
Here’s the official synopsis:
Meeting your girlfriend’s family for the first time can be tough. Planning to propose at her family’s annual Christmas dinner — until you realize that they don’t even know she’s gay — is even harder. When Abby (Kristen Stewart) learns that Harper (Mackenzie Davis) has kept their relationship a secret from her family, she begins to question the girlfriend she thought she knew. Happiest Season is a holiday romantic comedy that hilariously captures the range of emotions tied to wanting your family’s acceptance, being true to yourself, and trying not to ruin Christmas.
The rest of the stellar cast includes Alison Brie, Aubrey Plaza, Dan Levy, Victor Garber, and Mary Steenburgen, as well as co-writers of the film Mary Holland and Clea DuVall. DuVall directed the film as well. This movie looks like so much fun, with a Meet the Parents vibe, and great cast to deliver it.
