Trailer for INVENTING ANNA Tells the Scandalous True Story of a Woman Who Conned the Wealthy Elite
Who the hell is Anna Delvey? Netflix has released the first teaser trailer for a new series titled Inventing Anna, and it tells the scandalous true story of fake heiress Anna Sorokin. She ended up befriending wealthy elites and conning them out of lots of money. The project is inspired by the Jessica Pressler New York Magazine article, "How Anna Delvey Tricked New York's Party People."
I wasn’t familiar with this story until I heard this project was being made, and it certainly seems like an interesting story. It’s always fascinated me how people like this can infiltrate these groups of super rich people and con them out of money.
The series comes from Shonda Rhimes (Grey’s Anatomy, Scandal), and it stars Julia Garner (Ozark, Dirty John) in the role of Anna. This looks like a great and interesting character for Garner to play. It looks like it could be a good series.
In Inventing Anna, “a journalist with a lot to prove investigates the case of Anna Delvey, the Instagram-legendary German heiress who stole the hearts of New York's social scene — and stole their money as well. But is Anna New York's biggest con woman, or is she simply the new portrait of the American dream? Anna and the reporter form a dark, funny, love-hate bond as Anna awaits trial and our reporter fights the clock to answer the biggest question in NYC: who is Anna Delvey?”
Inventing Anna also stars Katie Lowes (Scandal), Laverne Cox (Orange is the New Black), Alexis Floyd (The Bold Type), Arian Moayed (Succession), Anna Deavere Smith (Nurse Jackie), Anders Holm (Workaholics), Jeff Perry (Scandal), Terry Kinney (Billions), and Jennifer Esposito (Crash, The Boys).
Inventing Anna will be released on Netflix on February 11, 2022.
