Trailer For James Corden's Dark Comedy Drama Series MAMMALS
Amazon Prime Video has released the trailer for James Corden’s upcoming dark comedy drama series Mammals. This looks like a quirky and unique series that may not be for everyone, but it looks like it will provide some interesting entertainment, and the story explores the complexities of marriage. It’s also filled with sadness, grief, tension, love, friendship, betrayal, and “a touch of magical realism.”
In the series, “revelations and secrets come to light as the complexity of modern marriage and fidelity are exposed. In a world of 8 billion, what happens after we've found “the one?” Can we stay true to the promises we strive to keep when, after all, aren't we all just Mammals?”
The story follows the story of Jamie (Corden), “a chef whose world implodes when he discovers shocking secrets about his pregnant wife, Amandine (Melia Kreiling). Jamie finds himself hunting for answers with the help of his brother-in-law Jeff (Colin Morgan). Through this hunt, the cracks in Jeff’s marriage to Jamie’s sister Lue (Sally Hawkins) also widen.”
The movie was written by two-time Olivier and Tony Award winner Jez Butterworth and was directed by Stephanie Laing (Made for Love, Physical) and produced by Street Hassle. Butterworth praised Corden's performance in the show, saying:
"James doesn't exist in any context for me other than acting. We spent eight months cutting Mammals and I could have used every single bit of any take. Everything he did is so true. [Writing for James was] like rolling downhill. Same as it was with Mark on Jerusalem. It's a duet with that person. It was done before I knew it, and that's the sign that you're off to the races."
All six episodes of Mammals will premiere on Friday, November 11th, exclusively on Prime Video.
