Trailer for Jennifer Aniston's Beauty Pageant Comedy DUMPLIN'
I typically don’t give a crap about beauty pageants. However, with the right script, a movie about a beauty pageant can be fun. Look at Miss Congeniality for instance. That’s a entertaining movie that revolves around a beauty pageant.
Now, there’s a new movie coming called Dumplin’ which stars Jennifer Aniston and Danielle Macdonald and here’s the synopsis:
“The plus-size, teenage daughter of a former beauty queen signs up for her mom’s pageant as a protest that escalates when other contestants follow in her footsteps, revolutionizing the pageant and their small Texas town.”
Anne Fletcher directed the film using an adapted screenplay from Kristin Hahn which is based on the novel of the same name by Julie Murphy. Mohamed AlRafi, Michael Costigan, Hahn, and Trish Hofmann will be serving as producers. Meanwhile, Aniston and Danny Nozell are executive producers.
The cast is rounded out with Dove Cameron, Harold Perrineau, and Odeya Rush. Dumplin’ will be in select theaters and on Netflix starting December 7, 2018.
