Trailer for Jerry Seinfeld's UNFROSTED: THE POP-TART STORY Which He Calls a "Colorful, Dumb, Silly Comedy"
Netflix has released the first trailer for director Jerry Seinfeld’s upcoming film Unfrosted: The Pop-Tart Story, and when talking about the tone of the film in an interview with Total Film, Seinfeld said: "I don't think anybody's done this before. I feel like we're ready for a colorful, dumb, silly comedy."
The movie looks fun! It looks exactly like the kind of live-action film that I expected to see Seinfeld make, and I think it will deliver some enjoyable entertainment!
Unfrosted is billed as “a tale of ambition, betrayal, sugar and menacing milkmen.” The story set in 1963 Michigan and “will watch as sworn cereal rivals Kellogg’s and Post race to create a pastry that will change the face of breakfast forever.”
The film has a staked ensemble cast that includes James Marsden (Sonic the Hedgehog 2), Melissa McCarthy (Ghostbusters), Jim Gaffigan (Linoleum), and Amy Schumer (Life & Beth). They wil be joined by Christian Slater (Dr. Death). Jack McBrayer (Hello, Jack! The Kindness Show), Tom Lennon (Reno 911!), Adrian Martinez (iGilbert), Bobby Moynihan (Saturday Night Live), Max Greenfield (The Neighborhood), and Sarah Cooper (Sarah Cooper: Everything’s Fine).
Hugh Grant plays cereal mascot Tony the Tiger in the movie, and when talking about working with the actor, Seinfeld said:
"They're all so talented and funny but honestly, the biggest thrill of the whole thing was Hugh Grant. He's so damn funny. You should've heard us screaming at each other on set. I was saying to him: 'You don't know anything about comedy. You just know how to be witty in a pub. Here in America, we've got to get real laughs.’ He’d scream back: 'I know a lot about comedy!' It was one of the great gifts of making this."
The movie is set to be released on May 3rd, and I’m actually excited about watching it! Check out the trailer below!
