Trailer For John David Washington and Zendaya's Netflix Film MALCOLM & MARIE
Netflix has released the first trailer for its upcoming romantic drama Malcolm & Marie starring John David Washington (Tenet) and Zendaya (Spider-Man: Homcoming).
In the film, “a filmmaker (Washington) returns home with his girlfriend (Zendaya) following a celebratory movie premiere as he awaits what’s sure to be an imminent critical and financial success. The evening suddenly takes a turn as revelations about their relationships begin to surface, testing the strength of their love.”
The movie has a heavy noir and dream-like tone. It’s pointed out in the trailer that this is not a love story, this is a story about love. As you’ll see, it’s going to be filled with some ups and emotional downs. You know, like all relationships.
The film was written and directed by Sam Levinson (Euphoria) and the film was shot in secret during the pandemic. The film was shot between June 17th and July 2nd at the Caterpillar House, which is an environmentally conscious glass architectural home located in Carmel, CA. Apparently, the shoot was all compliant with WGA, DGA and SAG-AFTRA approvals and COVID-19 safety protocols.
The film will be released on Netflix on February 5.
