Trailer For LANDLOCKED a Eerie Lo-Fi Horror Film About a VHS Camcorder That Can See Into The Past
A trailer has been released for an interesting new horror thriller that has a very eerie vibe to it. It’s titled Landlocked and it centers on an old VHS camcorder that can see into the past. It’s actually a pretty cool concept and it also incorporates actual footage in the form of childhood home movies.
In the film, “Summoned to his soon-to-be demolished childhood home, Mason discovers an old VHS camera that can see into the past, driving him to record as many memories as possible before the doomed house is destroyed. Utilizing the director’s own home movies, filming in the actual locations where he spent his youth and casting real-life family members to play fictionalized versions of themselves, Landlocked combines narrative and documentary with horror and sci-fi to create a movie unlike any other…”
As you watch the trailer, feel that something sinister is going on. This is very unconventional found footage filmmaking, and I dig it!
This marks the feature directorial debut of Paul Owens, and the cast includes real-life family members playing fictionalized versions of themselves.
Dark Sky Film’s Landlocked will be released on Digital, VOD, and in select theaters on January 6, 2023.
