Netflix shared the first teaser trailer for its upcoming film tick, tick…BOOM!, which marks the feature film directorial debut of Hamilton creator Lin-Manuel Miranda. The film is an adaptation of the autobiographical musical by Jonathan Larson, who revolutionized theater as the creator of Rent. The screenplay was written by Steven Levenson.

Andrew Garfield stars in the film as Jon, “a young theater composer who’s waiting tables at a New York City diner in 1990 while writing what he hopes will be the next great American musical. With the clock now ticking, Jon is at a crossroads and faces the question everyone must reckon with: What are we meant to do with the time we have?”

The movie also stars Alexandra Shipp, Robin de Jesús, Joshua Henry, MJ Rodriguez, Bradley Whitford, Tariq Trotter, Judith Light, and Vanessa Hudgens. I enjoy films that tell personal heartfelt stories of people working and struggling to live their dreams. I’m not familiar with this story, but I’m interested in seeing the movie.

Netflix will debut Miranda's tick, tick…BOOM! streaming sometime later this fall. Stay tuned for an exact release date.
