Trailer for Lucasfilm's Animated Fairytale STRANGE MAGIC

Before George Lucas sold Lucasfilm to Disney he was producing an animated feature film called Strange Magic. The movie is based on an original idea from Lucas, and it's a fairy tale musical that was inspired by A Midsummer Night’s Dream. The story follows a “colorful cast of goblins, elves, fairies and imps, and their hilarious misadventures sparked by the battle over a powerful potion.”

The movie was directed by Gary Rydstrom (Toy Story‘s Hawaiian Vacation), and today we have the first trailer for you to watch. This is definitely geared more towards kids, but it still looks like a lot of fun.

The movie features the voice talent of Alan Cumming, Evan Rachel Wood, Kristin Chenoweth, Maya Rudolph, Sam Palladio, Alfred Molina, Elijah Kelley, Bob Einstein, Peter Stormare, and Meredith Anne Bull.

Strange Magic will open in theaters on January 23rd, 2015.
