Trailer for Lynn Chen's I WILL MAKE YOU MINE, a Story of Music, Love, Parenthood, and the Complications of Adulthood

We’ve got a trailer for an indie film for you called I Will Make You Mine, written and directed by actress Lynn Chen in her directorial debut. Chen also stars alongside musicians Goh NakamuraYea-Ming Chen, actress Ayako Fujitani (The Patriot, the Gamera films), and newcomer Ayami Riley. The film is being described as a semi-sequel to Surrogate Valentine and Daylight Savings, which premiered at SXSW film festival in 2011 and 2012, respectively, and revisits the characters in a standalone story with a fresh new perspective.

Here’s the synopsis:

Rachel (Lynn Chen) lives in idle luxury with a cheating husband, Professor Erika (Ayako Fujitani) juggles career demands while raising her daughter Sachiko (newcomer Ayami Riley Tomine), and struggling musician Yea-Ming (Yea-Ming Chen) is still chasing a fast-fading dream. Three women who could not be more different have one thing in common: their flawed romantic history with singer-songwriter Goh Nakamura (himself). When the amiable but unreliable Goh ambles back into town and into their lives, the past comes roaring back.

This movie feels very personal and intimate, like it’s about people I’ve known for years. I Will Make You Mine is set to premiere next month at SXSW Film Festival. Check out the trailer below, and let us know what you think.
