Trailer for MGM+ Limited Drama Series THE WINTER KING Based on Arthurian Legends

An action-packed trailer has been released for the MGM+ limited drama series The Winter King, based on Arthurian legends of old. The ten-episode series is an adaptation of author Bernard Cornwell’s Warlord Chronicles novels and will star Iain De Caestecker (Agents of SHIELD) as Arthur Pendragon. He is joined in the cast by Eddie Marsan as High King Uther; Ellie James as Nimue; Nathaniel Martello-White as Merlin; Stuart Campbell as Derfel; Daniel Ings as Owain; Valene Kane as Morgan; Jordan Alexandra as Guinevere; Simon Merrells as Gundleus; Steven Elder as Bishop Bedwin; Andrew Gower as Sansum; Aneirin Hughes as Gorfydd; Emily John as Ceinwyn; Tatjana Nardone as Ladwyss; Ken Nwosu as Sagramor; and Billy Postlethwaite as Cadwys.

The story is set in the fifth century, long before Britain was united in a brutal land of warring factions and tribes, where lives were often fleeting. The series follows Arthur Pendragon as he evolves from an outcast to a legendary warrior and leader.

Otto Bathurst, who helmed the Taron Egerton-led Robin Hood in 2018, is a director and executive producer on the series alongside Toby Leslie.

This looks like a really well-done series that will be a slam dunk for fans of the genre. Check out the trailer below, and watch The Winter King on MGM+ on August 20th.
