Trailer For Michael Shannon's Directorial Debut Film ERIC LARUE Starring Judy Greer and Alexander Skarsgård

Actor Michael Shannon (The Shape of Water, The Bikeriders) has directed his first feature film. It’s titled Eric LaRue and it stars Judy Greer and Alexander Skarsgård. This is going to be an emotional drama that deals with heavy subject matter.

In the film, “Janice (Greer) is coping with the fallout after her son murders three of his high school classmates. Struggling and moving through life as if in a haze, she is unable to let go of her anger and frustration.

“While her husband (Skarsgård) has found refuge at a new church, Janice finds it hard to seek solace in her faith despite her pastor’s pleas to heal her wounds by meeting with the mothers of her son’s victims.

“As Janice ponders what that meeting could achieve for her and her community, ERIC LARUE asks audiences to witness the frayed emotional ripples that violent acts can engender.”

The film is based on a play written by Brett Neveu, who also wrote the script for the film. The film also stars Alison Pill, Paul Sparks, and Tracy Letts.

Shannon has worked with a lot of great directors over the course of his career, so he’s learned from the best. It looks like he’s made a strong movie.
