Trailer for MINTED: THE RISE (AND FALL?) OF THE NFT Documentary Film

Here’s an interesting trailer for a documentary the focuses on NFTs titled Minted: The Rise (and Fall?) of The NFT. There was a time where this was going to be the next big thing to make money off of and while some people did make money, the whole thing was handled so poorly.

The synopsis for the doc reads: “When the artist known as Beeple shatters records by selling a digital artwork for $69 million, it ignites a global NFT phenomenon that transforms the lives of artists around the world—but they must reckon with the controversies that threaten to collapse this wild and controversial new frontier.

Minted spans the entire arc of the NFT craze, from its explosive beginnings in 2021 to its dramatic crash in 2022. Bruckman doesn't shy away from presenting the critical voices within the NFT conversation and gives ample screen time to critics who question the long-term viability and social implications of NFTs.”

The doc give us a “smart look at the intersection of art, commerce, and digital ownership through the rise and crash of the NFT market.

“A renegade group of outsider artists are thrust into the global limelight when they embrace a powerful new technology, but they must reckon with controversies that will collapse the wild world of NFTs.”

The doc was directed by Nicholas Bruckman and is now available to watch via Independent Lens.
