Trailer For MORE THAN MIYAGI: THE PAT MORITA STORY Takes a Look Inside the Painful Life of a Legend
A new trailer has been released for a documentary titled More Than Miyagi: The Pat Morita Story, which follows the actor and comedian through his painful life from the perspective of the people who knew him. Morita was best known for his role of Mr. Miyagi in the Karate Kid franchise, and is now memorialized as such in the series Cobra Kai, but before landing that career-defining role, he was a comedian who made his mark in the world of onstage comedy as well as roles in TV and films like Sanford and Son, Happy Days, and Honeymoon in Vegas.
Here’s the doc synopsis:
The Oscar-nominated actor best known for his role of Mr. Miyagi, left behind a painfully revealing autobiographical record of his much-too-brief time here on Earth, tracing his journey from being bed-bound as a boy to the bright lights and discrimination in Hollywood. Deep inside that sweet, generous, multi-talented performer seethed an army of demons, that even alcohol and drugs couldn't mask.
