Trailer for Neon's Horror Film LEVITICUS Turns Conversion Therapy into a Living Nightmare

The first trailer for Leviticus has arrived from Neon, and the film takes an unsettling concept and pushes it into supernatural territory, blending psychological terror with real-world trauma.

Directed by Adrian Chiarella in his feature debut, the story centers on two teenagers trapped in a nightmare that feels both intimate and monstrous.

As the official synopsis explains, Leviticus is about “two star-crossed teenage boys [who] must escape a violent entity that takes the form of the person they desire most — each other.”

The film stars Joe Bird as Naim and Stacy Clausen as Ryan, the two boys caught in the middle of this twisted ordeal. They’re joined by Mia Wasikowska, who plays Naim’s emotionally stunted mother, along with Jeremy Blewitt, Ewen Leslie, and Davida McKenzie.

Set in a small, isolated Australian town steeped in religious values, Leviticus pulls its title from the biblical text often cited in debates around sexuality. That backdrop feeds directly into the film’s themes, delivering an tense environment where fear, repression, and belief collide. It’s not just about escaping a monster, it’s about confronting the systems that create one.

The movie made its debut in the midnight section at the 2026 Sundance Film Festival, where it quickly caught attention and sparked conversation. Neon moved fast to secure distribution, reportedly paying a seven-figure sum.

From what the trailer shows, Leviticus isn’t holding back. It’s creepy, emotional, and confrontational. Horror has always been a space to explore difficult truths, and this film looks ready to push that idea even further.

Leviticus hits theaters on June 19.
