Trailer for Netflix's Creepy SEXY BEASTS Dating Show with Cool Prosthetics
Netflix is going crazy with dating shows that are weird. The streaming giant recently released a trailer for a new show called Sexy Beasts that is premiering next month. In Sexy Beasts, contestants will get made up to look like various animals and then go on dates.
The goal is to not have appearances play a big role in the relationship, but to let the personality of a person be their main selling point. This is so weird and creepy. I will say, the makeup and prosthetic work is absolutely amazing. It is top-notch, and more movies and TV series need to hire these people. I have problems with the premise though.
Hoping to say goodbye to superficial dating, real-life singles sport elaborate makeup and prosthetics to put true blind-date chemistry to the test.
Appearances will still play a role in Sexy Beasts. They don’t appear to be hiding body types and people have preconceptions about the animal that their date is dressed up as that add or subtract to the experience. Yes, the appearance factor will be reduced, but to say that this is “true blind-date chemistry” is a bit of a stretch. If you’re looking for a new crazy reality show to watch though, Sexy Beasts might be just right for you.
